ITINERARY
DAY 1: TRANSFER TO RUBAVU GISENYI
On this same day, have your breakfast at the hotel, check out and transfer to Rubavu. This drive is a drive that will take you through green and rolling hills from Kigali the capital of Rwanda to Rubavu, amongst to see on the way including terraced farm all along the way, tea farms and coffee. The journey takes 3hours drive until you arrive in Rubavu town and then continue to your hotel to check in. After check-in, relax a bit, in evening head out to experience boat cruise with fisher men in lake Kivu. After that amazing evening activity you will return to your hotel for overnight and meals.
DAY 2: LAKE KIVU BOAT TRIP
Have a leisure tea or coffee at your hotel and then start lake Kivu boat trip by visiting various Island and nyamyumba hot springs are created by underground water that bubbles its way to the surface of the earth through porous rocks. The mineral-rich hot water is gathered into two ponds attracting a good number of people every day. Some of those who have discovered the puzzling fountain don’t see the need to consult doctors anymore.
Many residents of Nyamyumba Sector share their beliefs towards the hot spring. According to them, amashyuza cures back pain, headache, flu and skin diseases among others. They also credit the hot springs for strengthening weak muscles and removing toxic substances from the body. When consumed orally, many believe this mysterious water heals sore throat, hangover, constipation and urinary track infections. The bubbling water is also used to boil eggs and simmer potatoes, bananas, fish and other types of foodstuff. Retire your visit by embarking on the drive back to Kigali the capital city of Rwanda.
